Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission (UP SEC) released the final voter list for the three-tier Panchayat elections on Wednesday. The list was released at the district level and voter have been assigned a nine-digit identification number. The list has added 40.19 lakh oters, while the names of 1.41 crore voters have been removed from the list. 

When did Election Commission released the list?

The Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission (UP SEC) on Wednesday released the final voter list for the Panchayat elections. This list was released after all claims and objections were resolved and verified. The list was released district-wise, but complaints are being received from several districts regarding downloading the list. It is being reported that technical glitches are causing the downloading problem.

What is there in the final voter list for Panchayat elections?

This final voter list has been released by the Election Commission after all claims and objections have been resolved and verified. Previously, the Commission released a provisional voter list on December 18, 2025. 

According to information, approximately 1.81 crore new voters have been added to the final voter list, while the names of 1.41 crore voters have been removed from the list, which resulted in an increase of approximately 40.19 lakh voters in the Panchayat election voter list. Following the release of the final voter list, further proceedings for the Panchayat elections in the state may accelerate. 

Did voters receive a nine-digit number?

This time, the Election Commission has issued voters a nine-digit voter identification number, ensuring a more transparent and streamlined election process. Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh have been postponed. Due to the unclear status of OBC reservations in panchayats, village heads have been appointed administrators for six months. The matter is also being heard in the High Court.
