Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government approved 22 proposals in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. Many important decisions were taken in the meeting including providing cashless treatment facility to teachers and employees, providing free land for the expansion of Sainik School in Mainpuri, promoting animal husbandry and arrangement for registration of vessels. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Livestock Minister Dharampal Singh, Stamp and Registration Minister Ravindra Jaiswal and Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh gave information about various proposals after the meeting.
The cabinet decisions include a proposal to provide cashless treatment facility to lakhs of teachers and employees of the state. Its aim is to make it easier to access treatment in times of need. However, the available information does not provide detailed details of the scheme's scope, eligibility and implementation date.
Livestock Minister Dharampal Singh said that Uttar Pradesh is the state with the highest number of livestock in the country, but challenges related to low production and market system still remain. Describing animal husbandry as an important means of increasing the income of farmers, the government has constituted State Livestock Mission for the first time. Under this, emphasis will be laid on increasing milk production, improving the breed of animals and providing markets to animal farmers. The plan to develop better breeds through artificial insemination is also part of the mission.
According to the minister, cows will be insured under the mission. The government will have to pay 85 percent of the insurance premium and the farmer will have to pay 15 percent. Apart from this, it has been said that 50 percent subsidy will be given on cows. A scheme to provide 100 free chickens to poor families for poultry farming was also announced. These initiatives aim to make animal husbandry more profitable and create additional sources of income for rural families.
Stamp and Registration Minister Ravindra Jaiswal said that new arrangements will be made in the Registration Department for registration of merger and de-mergers of companies. According to the proposal, 0.50 percent stamp duty will have to be paid on the share price of the company. According to the minister, earlier the process of such registration was done at the level of the company secretary and due to lack of clear policy, the entire company value could be taxed during merger or division of the company. After passing the proposal in the Assembly, it will be sent to the Central Government.
Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that the Cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh Inland Vessel Rules. Under this, rules for operation and registration of boats, steamers and other vessels will be decided. There will be separate registration systems for mechanical and non-mechanical vessels. The fee will be determined based on the capacity of passengers. A fee of Rs 50 has been fixed for registration of non-mechanical boat. The manual also includes a provision for providing insurance to passengers and sailors.
The state government will provide free land for the expansion of Sainik School in Mainpuri. The purpose of this decision is to provide the necessary land for the expansion of the school. However, details of the land area, location and timeline of the expansion project are not available in the available information.
A total of 22 proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting. Among the information shared by the government, decisions related to treatment of teachers and employees, animal husbandry, company registration, water transport and Sainik School were prominent.
