Thieves Break Into Army Soldier’s Flat in Vrindavan, Steal ₹2 Lakh Cash and Jewellery (TIN)
Vrindavan: Despite the gated society, high boundary and presence of security guards, thieves challenged the security arrangements in Kanha Makhan Society. On Monday midnight, thieves broke the locks of flat number 504 of an army soldier located in Dham-6 Apartment and stole about Rs 2 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewelery worth lakhs of rupees. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the neighbors found the lock of the flat broken.
Flat owner Banke Bihari Gaur is posted in the Indian Army and is on duty in Delhi these days. His wife had also gone to the village for the last eight days to take care of her ailing mother-in-law. Taking advantage of this, thieves targeted the closed flat. Late on Monday night, the thieves entered the flat by breaking the lock, searched the shelves in the rooms and escaped with cash and jewellery.
On Tuesday morning, when the neighbors saw the lock of the flat broken, they informed the family members about it. The police was informed about the theft. As soon as the information was received, half police post in-charge Rohit Tewatiya reached the spot with the team and inspected the spot. Along with interrogating the people nearby, the police have started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the society.
There is concern among the people living there due to incidents of theft in gated society. Residents say that despite security guards and high boundaries, thieves reaching the flat raises questions on the security arrangements. People have demanded increased security arrangements and surveillance during night time. Police officials say that efforts are being made to identify the thieves on the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence. It has been claimed that the incident will be revealed soon and the accused will be arrested.
