4 Killed, More Than 20 Injured As Volvo Bus Crashes Into Truck On Yamuna Expressway

New Delhi: A major accident took place on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura on Tuesday morning. A Volvo bus loaded with 65 passengers collided with a trailer moving ahead at high speed from behind. In this accident, 4 people died on the spot and more than 20 people were injured. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital. The condition of many people is critical.

When and where did the accident happen?

This accident happened at around 4 in the morning. The place was between milestones 112 and 113 of Yamuna Expressway in Raya police station area of Mathura. The bus belonged to Gola Bus Service and was carrying passengers.

How did the accident happen?

According to Mathura Rural SP Suresh Chandra Rawat, the trailer was running in the third lane. The speed of the Volvo bus coming from behind was very high and it rammed into the trailer. In the initial investigation, high speed is considered to be the main reason for the accident. The police are still conducting a complete investigation.

How were the injured taken to the hospital?

As soon as the news of the accident was received, the police and expressway emergency team reached the spot. A green corridor was created to take the injured to the hospital quickly. Due to this, the ambulance reached the hospital directly without getting stuck in traffic.

How many people died and how many were injured?

So far 4 deaths have been confirmed. More than 19 people are injured and hospitalised. Doctors say that the condition of some of the injured is very bad, so the death toll may increase.
