#WATCH | Ayodhya, UP: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath says, "...Every resident of Ayodhya now stands with a greater sense of pride. Ten years ago, people would turn away at the mere mention of Ayodhya; today, if you go anywhere and say, 'I am from Ayodhya,' people welcome you with open arms and a warm embrace... When a good government is in power, it not only provides the benefits of welfare schemes but also brings the joy of festivals and celebrations. I choose to begin and celebrate my Diwali right here, so that the memory of the original 'Deepotsav'—which took place thousands of years ago when the Lord returned to Ayodhya—remains alive, serving as an inspiration for future generations. Coming to Ayodhya fills me with a profound sense of emotion. Yesterday, more than 30 lakh lamps were lit. The Vice President of India, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, and several other ministers were present, alongside hundreds of thousands of devotees—all gathered to behold the splendour of Ayodhya, to pay tribute to the city, and to welcome every single citizen of Ayodhya..."

CM Yogi said that the picture of Ayodhya has changed a lot in the last decade. He credited this change to the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the Chief Minister, earlier people used to keep distance after hearing the name of Ayodhya, but now people coming from Ayodhya are respected in other cities.
Referring to the construction of wide roads and government schemes in the city, he said that poor families are getting the benefits of schemes like housing, free ration and Ayushman Bharat.
Yogi Adityanath also mentioned the thoughts of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in his address. He said that the goal of good governance is achieved only when the benefits of government schemes reach the Dalits and deprived people standing at the last rung of the society.
The Chief Minister said that the happiness of festivals should reach every section of the society. He appealed to the people of the state to share happiness with poor, Dalit and needy families on the occasion of Diwali and give them gifts.
