Good News for Chetak Lovers: Bajaj Restarts Production, Full Stock to be Available During Festive Season (Image Source: Chetak.com)

Bajaj Auto has announced that the production of the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has resumed after weeks of disruptions caused by the shortage of rare-earth magnets imported from China. The company has taken this major step just before the festive season so that customers can get the deliveries on time and enough stock for dealerships.

Full Stock in Festive Season

In July 2025, Bajaj Chetak’s output fell by nearly 47% to 10,824 units because of a magnet shortage. Company officials had even cautioned that production might stop completely in August if supplies didn’t recover. With the supply issue now resolved, Bajaj says it has enough stock to meet demand, and shipments to dealers have resumed to ensure timely deliveries against bookings.

Design and Features

The Bajaj Chetak has an all-electric powertrain, and it comes with a stylish retro-inspired design. It also includes LED lights, a digital display, and smartphone connectivity for navigation and scooter diagnostics.

Mileage and Performance

Powered by an electric motor, Chetak is ideal for city commutes and offers a good range. Regenerative braking improves economy, and the lithium-ion battery provides a stable range for daily commutes. The scooter is offered in several variants.

Price

The price of Bajaj Chetak has not increased, and the production is running smoothly again; the company is confident about the demand in the market ahead of the festive season. The restart of its production will also increase its position against competitors such as TVS, Ather Energy, and Hero (Vida).
