iQOO 16T Tipped To Launch With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Or Dimensity 9600 (X)
New Delhi: iQOO is reportedly working on its next flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16T. Preliminary information about this phone has already surfaced. Now, tipster has shared a new leak on the micro-blogging site, revealing key details such as the phone's processor, display, and cooling system.
According to the latest leak, iQOO has begun testing the iQOO 16T. The prototype is reportedly based on Qualcomm's upcoming SM8950 flagship chipset, which is likely to be launched as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The company is also testing a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 (DX6) variant, meaning the phone could come with different chipset options.
The leak suggests that the iQOO 16T could feature a flat Samsung display with a 2K resolution. Interestingly, the phone is also reported to have a large built-in cooling fan, which could provide better thermal management during prolonged gaming or heavy tasks. However, due to the device being in testing, its specifications may change by launch.
The launch timeline is not yet confirmed. iQOO launched the iQOO 15T in May 2026. It's believed the company could also introduce the iQOO 16T in 2027, but official information regarding its launch date is currently unknown.
In comparison, the current iQOO 15T features a 6.82-inch 2K+ AMOLED LTPO display with a 144Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. It's powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Monster chipset, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone packs a large 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
In terms of camera, it has a 16MP front camera, and a 200MP primary camera with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide camera on the back. In terms of operating system, the phone runs on OriginOS 6, based on Android 16. It also has a metal frame and an IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance rating.
