Vivo May Bring Origin OS to India, Gradually Replacing Funtouch OS (Social Media)
Tech News:China's leading smartphone company, Vivo, is preparing to introduce Origin OS soon for its users. At the moment, most Vivo and IQOO phones run on Android 15 based origin OS 5. The next month the company will launch Android 16 based origin OS 6. According to the information, the Vivo X300 series will be the first series that will run on ORIGIN OS 6 from the box itself.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav (@Yabhishekhd) claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that Vivo and IQOO smartphones in India will soon run on Origin OS. Although he has described it as 'confirmed,' it cannot be considered sure until there is an official announcement from the company.

Currently, Vivo and IQOO smartphones in India run on Funtouch OS. If this information is proved correct, Vivo will gradually remove Funtouch OS and present Origin OS in India. This will give Indian users the benefit of a unified experience like China.
This is not the first time that there has been talk of Origin OS coming to India. A few weeks ago, a user on Reddit's R/Vivo Thread, who described himself as an employee of Vivo India, claimed that Android 16 based Origin OS 6 would roll out in India. However, no timeline was given in that post. Initial rollouts can be from high-end models and later it can be brought to mid-range and entry-level phones.
Vivo has confirmed that Android 16 based origin OS 6 will be launched in China on 10 October. Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro will first be smartphones running on this latest OS.
If Origin OS is also introduced in India, users will get a new user interface, better customization options, and smooth performance. Along with this, Vivo and IQOO will make their smartphone experiences similar to China.
