Ramshankar Tiwari alias Baba Parmanand alias Shakti Baba (72), who was surrounded by allegations of exploiting and luring childless females with the promise of giving birth to a child, died on Thursday. Eight years ago, several cases of physical abuse in the name of exorcism, and murderous assault were registered against him. The then SP Abdul Hameed had sent Baba to jail on May 24, 2016. After being acquitted in the rape case and getting bail in four cases, Baba was released from the district jail on September 19, 2022.

According to the information, Baba Parmanand was admitted to Lari Hospital in Lucknow. He died of a heart attack. Baba Parmanand's original name was Ramshankar. Thirty years ago, he began the Tantra-Mantra work by installing the statue in a room of his home. He professed to be able to heal patients using music therapy. He gained notoriety as Shakti Baba, also known as Kalyani Guru, in a matter of years, at which point his followers increased.

Following this, Baba Parmanand began assuring childless couples that they would conceive a son. Baba used to terrify mothers who were childless by telling them that they would burn in hell. In his ashram, boards were also put up for this purpose. Baba was charged in 2016 with abusing childless women sexually while posing as a music therapist. He was later taken into custody by the police. He spent a lengthy period in jail before getting released on bond and spending a long time at home.
