A city in California has legalized polyamorous relationships involving three or four people . This means that even threesomes and foursomes can now become official partners on government records.

According to a report in the New York Post , this decision was made by West Hollywood, a city near Los Angeles. On November 3rd, the city council unanimously passed a new law. This law was introduced by Mayor John Heilmann. Under this law, now 3 or more people, who are in a relationship with each other with mutual consent, can go to the city clerk and register their relationship as domestic partners.

What benefits will you get?

After registration, these partners will gain certain legal rights. For example, if one partner is hospitalized, the other partners will be able to visit them. Visitation in jail will also be granted. Furthermore, they will gain protection regarding their rented accommodation. A landlord will not be able to terminate the rent simply because more than one partner lives in the house. The most interesting thing is that it's not even necessary to live in the city. Outsiders can also go there and register their relationship.

No, this isn't a full-fledged marriage. This law doesn't provide the full rights of marriage, such as inheritance, tax breaks, or other benefits associated with marriage. It merely provides a legal identity to the relationship.
