'I am a Thakur': Viral video shows HDFC bank employee threatening customer at Kanpur branch (X)

Kanpur: A video that is widely circulating in social media, shows an HDFC Bank female employee engaged in a heated confrontation with a customer.

The video shows how a normal banking day in HDFC Bank branch in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur turned into a chaotic scene.

What exactly happened in bank?

In the viral video, the bank employee identified as Aastha Singh can be clearly seen upset and in a loud verbal exchange with the customer. 

The situation quickly intensified  and went out of hands after the customer began recording the incident.

The critics are divided in two parts, some are criticizing the employee for being unprofessional and some users are  defending her.

In the video, which is about 43 seconds long, Aastha Singh van be heard using abusive language and making a caste-referenced remark during the dispute.

Aastha Singh in the video can be seen rising from her seat, shouting, and pointing towards the male customer in an aggressive manner.

What is the remark?

The remark that is now drawing criticism is "Thakur Hoon main (I am a Thakur).

The HDFC employee during the argument can be heard making this remark.

Many people are criticizing the caste-based remark and unprofessional behavior in customer service.

User have tagged HDFC Bank directly in the post, calling for a thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary measures. 

Till now, HDFC has not issued an official public statement on the matter and no police complaint has been registered in connection with the case.
