New Delhi: A video that surfaced from the AC coach of a moving train has sparked debate on social media. In the video, a passenger is seen performing puja while sitting on the upper berth. A burning oil lamp and incense sticks are kept in front of it. The train is running at its own speed, while smoke is also seen spreading inside the closed coach. Some passengers sitting nearby forbade him from doing so and advised him to extinguish the fire. After the incident, questions have started being raised regarding railway safety.

If the lamp falls due to a sudden shock or the flame reaches any object, it will not take much time for the fire to spread. This is why Railways advises to avoid any kind of open fire during the journey.

Any work inside the train which may cause fire or endanger the lives of other passengers is not considered in accordance with the rules.
