Lucknow: In the ancient Hanuman temple located in Nandpur village of Nagina tehsil in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, a dog has been continuously circling the idols of Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva Shankar, Radha Krishna, and Goddess Durga since Monday. Local people and devotees who visit the temple have interpreted this as a divine sign.

When did the phenomenon start?

This phenomenon began around 4 AM on Monday morning and has continued uninterrupted. According to the temple committee, the dog has been circling the idols of all the deities installed in the temple premises tirelessly, without harming anyone, and in a calm manner. Idols of different Hindu gods such as Lord Hanuman, Lord Shankar, Radha Krishna, and Goddess Durga are installed in the temple.

How have the devotees reacted?

For the devotees visiting the temple, this sight is nothing short of a miracle. The dog is neither leaving the temple nor showing any kind of aggression. It is simply seen continuously circling the idols of Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva Shankar, Radha Krishna, and Goddess Durga. When it gets tired, it sits down for a while and then resumes its circumambulation. Seeing this unique behavior, people are associating it with faith. Now, this dog is being discussed in several surrounding districts.

What have the local people said?

According to local people, this temple is quite ancient and has been associated with deep religious faith for years, but this kind of incident has been witnessed for the first time. As this news spread from the surrounding villages to the entire district, a crowd of devotees started gathering at the temple. Many people are coming from far-off places and surrounding districts to witness this amazing sight. Chants of Jai Bajrangbali and other deities are echoing in the temple premises.

Is this a divine sign?

Some devotees consider this incident a divine sign, while others believe it is a symbol of God's special grace. Some people have also associated it with Bhairavnath and said that the dog is engrossed in devotion to God. Meanwhile, another dog arrived while the first dog was circling the idol of Hanuman, but the first dog did not react to it and continued its circumambulation, ignoring the other dog. Upon receiving information about the incident, regional minister Anoop Valmiki also arrived at the temple and observed the entire situation closely. The administration is also monitoring the situation to prevent any disorder.

How have the authorities responded?

The temple committee and local villagers have shown compassion and are taking care of the dog. Polythene sheets have been put up in the temple premises to protect the dog from the cold, and special care is being taken to ensure that the dog is not harmed. Additionally, due to the increasing crowd, barricades have been placed near the idol to prevent the growing number of devotees from disrupting the dog's circumambulation.
