Trending News: A 27-year-old woman lost her life in a Bali hotel room after following a strict “fruitarian” diet that left her dangerously weak and undernourished. As reported by media, the woman, identified as Karolina Krzyzak, checked into the Sumberkima Hill resort in December 2024 and asked for a villa with a private pool. Staff members noticed right away that she looked extremely thin, with hollow eyes and sharp collarbones. She was so frail that one night the night clerk had to help her back to her room because she could not manage on her own.
Her condition was very clear to those around her. Her nails had turned yellow, her teeth were decaying, and her body showed signs of serious lack of nutrition. Staff at the hotel repeatedly advised Karolina to see a doctor, but she always refused their requests. Only three days after her arrival, workers became worried when a local friend of Karolina messaged them, saying she had not heard from her. When hotel staff checked her room, they found her lying unresponsive. She was later confirmed dead due to malnutrition.
Reports revealed that Karolina had osteoporosis and an albumin deficiency at the time of her death, both results of long-term malnutrition. Her friends shared that she had struggled with her body image for years and had experienced anorexia during her teenage years. While studying in the UK, she developed an interest in yoga and vegan food, which slowly pushed her toward “fruitarianism” – a diet that depends almost fully on eating raw fruit. Over time, her social media showed clear signs of her worsening health. Her parents and friends begged her many times to get treatment, but she continued her extreme eating habits. At the time of her death, Karolina weighed only 22 kilograms.
