Saint Premanand Maharaj
Astro News: In Vrindavan, Premanand Maharaj is adored for his spiritual discourses. Devotees flock with personal questions, but when asked about marriage or property, he politely folds his hands, reminding all that his answers belong only to the path of spirituality.
Every day, hundreds of devotees come to meet Premanand Maharaj at his ashram in Vrindavan. Many seek guidance on worldly issues like building a house or marrying off a daughter. Maharaj, however, refuses such queries, focusing only on spiritual matters.
During a recent discourse, one devotee asked when his house would be built and when his daughter’s marriage would happen. Maharaj replied firmly that such answers are not his domain. He speaks only of God, devotion, and spiritual awakening.
Maharaj advised the devotee to consult an astrologer for matters of property and marriage. He said only astrologers can check the horoscope and tell such details. His message was clear: he is here to guide souls toward God, not worldly gains.
To explain, Maharaj narrated the story of King Janak and Sita’s swayamvar. He said if Janak had known no king could lift the bow, he would never have made such a vow. Even great kings could not foresee destiny’s will.
Maharaj urged devotees to weep and pray to God, as King Janak did for Sita’s marriage. He stressed that answers lie not in asking saints about material life but in devotion, surrender, and walking the path shown by the Guru.
Born in 1969 in Akhari village near Kanpur, Premanand Maharaj’s childhood leaned toward spirituality. His real name was Anirudh Kumar Pandey. At 13, he left home for renunciation. Guided by his Guru Sri Gaurangi Sharan, he dedicated his life to spiritual service.
