Comet EV: MG Motor Brings India's Most Affordable Electric Car; Know Features, Price

New Delhi: The Comet EV is the most affordable electric car in MG Motor India's portfolio. It is also one of the most affordable electric vehicles available in the country. Consequently, the company has introduced attractive discounts to make purchasing this car easier for customers. Specifically, buying a Comet EV this month—in May—entitles customers to benefits worth up to ₹60,000. However, these benefits will vary for MY25 and MY26 units. MY26 units come with a discount of ₹10,000, an exchange bonus of ₹10,000, a loyalty bonus of ₹20,000, and a corporate benefit of ₹10,000.

On the other hand, the Model Year 2025 units of the Comet EV offer a discount of up to ₹30,000, along with loyalty and corporate benefits similar to those offered on the MY26 models. The ex-showroom price of this two-door EV ranges from ₹7.62 lakh to ₹9.99 lakh. It is equipped with a 17.4kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 230 km.

What Are Features and Specifications of MG Comet EV?

The Comet EV measures 2974 mm in length, 1505 mm in width, and 1640 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2010 mm. Its turning radius is a mere 4.2 meters—a boon for driving on busy roads or parking in tight spaces. The MG Comet EV features a closed front grille, a full-width LED strip, and sleek headlamps. It also sports large-sized doors, sporty alloy wheels, and a flat rear section.

Inside, the vehicle features a 10.25-inch screen, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital instrument cluster. Users will be able to pair their devices to access a wide range of features and functionalities. It offers features such as music playback, turn-by-turn navigation, weather information, and real-time traffic updates. The MG Comet EV is available for purchase in four color options: Bay (Blue), Serenity (Green), Sundowner (Orange), and Flex (Red).

The MG Comet EV is based on the GSEV platform. It has been designed specifically with the needs of urban commuters in mind. However, due to its compact dimensions, the car may appear somewhat delicate. It features 12-inch wheels fitted with 145/70 profile tires. The front wheels are equipped with disc brakes, while the rear wheels utilize drum brakes.
