Auto News: Terra Motors, a Japanese electric vehicle manufacturer, unveiled the Kyoro electric auto in New Delhi, set for an official launch in June 2025. This eco-friendly three-wheeler, boasting a 200km driving range on a single charge, aims to transform India’s auto-rickshaw market. Designed with Japanese technology tailored for Indian conditions, the Kyoro offers affordability and efficiency, targeting urban drivers and fleet operators grappling with rising fuel costs. The announcement, covered by Jagran, has sparked excitement on X, with bookings expected to open by early June.
The Kyoro electric auto is powered by an 11.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, achieving 0–80% charge in just 3 hours and 15 minutes. The vehicle features regenerative braking, which recharges the battery during braking, and a hydraulic central braking system for safety. An anti-rust coating and metal front fascia ensure durability in diverse weather conditions, while an intelligent safety alarm alerts drivers if the battery exceeds 55°C. Priced at approximately ₹3 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s a cost-effective alternative to petrol and diesel autos.
The Kyoro targets India’s growing demand for sustainable last-mile connectivity, competing with Piaggio Ape E-City and TVS King Kargoelectric. Its launch aligns with government incentives under the PM E-DRIVE scheme, offering subsidies up to ₹50,000 for electric three-wheelers. X posts highlight enthusiasm among drivers for its low running costs—estimated at ₹1 per km versus ₹5 for petrol autos. Terra Motors plans to establish 50 dealerships across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu by 2026. As urban India embraces green mobility, the Kyoro’s robust range and features position it as a leader, promising reduced emissions and economic relief for drivers.
