Royal Enfield sales
Royal Enfield sales 2025: Royal Enfield has kicked off the financial year 2025-26 with strong numbers and rising confidence. In April 2025, the iconic motorcycle brand recorded total sales of 86,559 units, marking a 6% year-on-year growth compared to the same month last year. This performance underscores not just consistent demand but also the brand's enduring appeal among riders.
In the domestic market, 76,002 units were dispatched to dealers, registering a 1% growth over the 75,038 units sold in April 2024. While the increase is modest, it reflects the brand’s ability to maintain a stronghold in India’s highly competitive motorcycle segment. However, it’s in international markets that Royal Enfield has truly made a mark this April. The company exported 10,557 units, which is a remarkable 55% increase over the previous year. This sharp rise indicates a growing global appetite for Royal Enfield’s blend of vintage design and modern engineering.
Commenting on the performance, Royal Enfield CEO and Managing Director B Govindarajan shared his optimism: “After reaching the milestone of one million unit sales last fiscal year, we’re thrilled to see this new year begin on such a strong note. Our momentum in global markets is encouraging, and we’re committed to delivering exceptional riding experiences.”
While the current numbers impress, Royal Enfield’s story goes far beyond figures. Its origins date back to 1890, when it received the Royal Enfield name under license from the British Crown. The company initially produced bicycles, lawnmowers, and stationary engines, and later evolved into one of the world’s most iconic motorcycle makers. The brand’s motto, “Made like a gun,” and the cannon in its logo reflect its weapon-manufacturing heritage, which has long stood as a symbol of strength and durability.
In 1909, Royal Enfield introduced a small motorcycle powered by a Swiss 2¼ HP engine, which stunned the global market. This was followed by the introduction of more powerful V Twin models, such as the JAP 6 HP 770cc with a sidecar, which helped the brand gain household recognition. By 1914, Royal Enfield had begun developing its own engines and paint schemes, creating a signature identity that still resonates. With steady domestic performance and booming exports, Royal Enfield continues to ride high. The brand’s timeless legacy, paired with strategic expansion and innovation, positions it for an even more successful journey ahead.
