New Delhi: Tata Motors has announced the debut date for its Sierra EV. The company is set to unveil the production-spec version of this all-new electric SUV on June 30. This electric SUV was previously showcased in concept form at Auto Expo 2020 and again at Auto Expo 2023. Positioned within Tata's EV portfolio, the Sierra EV will sit right between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV. It will be based on the acti.ev+ architecture, which is shared with the Harrier EV.
According to an Autocar India report, Tata's Chief Commercial Officer, Vivek Srivastava, stated in an interview that the Sierra EV will be available in both RWD and AWD versions. Regarding battery pack options, the Sierra EV is likely to offer the same 65kWh and 75kWh options found in the Harrier EV. The AWD variant will be introduced at a later stage. It is expected to deliver a range of up to 627 km on a single charge. Several expected features and details regarding the Sierra EV have already surfaced.
In terms of the interior, Tata is expected to make the Sierra EV one of its most digitally advanced vehicles to date. The dashboard layout will feature a triple-screen configuration, comprising a large digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated passenger-side display. It will be packed with features right from the base trim.
Higher variants are expected to offer Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, ambient lighting, and a premium audio system. A panoramic glass roof and upgraded interior materials are also likely to be included. The Sierra EV will retain the familiar, upright silhouette and boxy proportions of the Sierra nameplate but will feature several EV-specific styling updates.
These include a closed-off front fascia, a full-width LED daytime running light bar, split headlamps, and revised bumpers featuring dark inserts and a more rugged lower section. Other highlights include squared-off wheel arches, a muscular shoulder line, flush door handles, new alloy wheel designs, and a connected LED light strip at the rear.
