New Delhi: KTM India is preparing to launch an updated model of its popular 200 Duke in the Indian market. The company has released the first teaser for the new bike. The teaser shows a glimpse of the bike, but does not reveal full details of its design and features.

However, a unit of the bike has been spotted at a dealership, revealing some of its new features. This time around, the bike could see more significant changes than before. Notably, it could feature some of the company's larger bikes, the 250 Duke and 390 Duke.

Will get bi-directional quickshifter

The biggest change on the new KTM 200 Duke could be the bi-directional quickshifter. This feature allows riders to shift up and down without using the clutch. This will make gear changes easier and improve the riding experience. Currently, this feature is available on the company's 250 Duke and 390 Duke. Additionally, the bike could also feature ride-by-wire technology. This allows the accelerator to be controlled via an electronic system instead of the usual mechanical connection. This could allow features like ride modes and traction control to be added to the bike.

2 ride modes can be found in the bike

According to reports, the new bike may feature Rain and Street ride modes. Rain mode may be helpful when riding on wet roads, while Street mode will be for normal roads. Traction control may help maintain rear wheel grip in slippery conditions. However, the company has not yet officially confirmed these features. The switches on the right side of the bike may also be new. Their design appears to be similar to the switches on the 390 Duke. However, the controls on the left side do not appear to have any major changes.

No changes expected in the engine and hardware

The new KTM 200 Duke is expected to feature the existing 199.5 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 25 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 19.3 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. It is expected to retain the 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are expected to include 43 mm WP USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. However, despite ride-by-wire technology, cruise control is not known. It's worth noting that the 200 Duke was previously updated in 2026. At that time, the bike received changes such as a larger 320mm front brake disc, lighter 5-spoke alloy wheels, new rear footpegs, redesigned grab rails, and a USB Type-C charging port.

Expected price of 2026 KTM 200 Duke

Currently, the KTM 200 Duke is priced at ₹2.05 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of new features, the price may increase slightly. However, the company has not yet revealed the price or launch date of the new bike. In the Indian market, it will continue to compete with bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
