Bihar: Firing Near Nitish Kumar's Bakhtiyarpur Residence Leaves Two Injured, CCTV Records Attack (X)
Patna: In Bakhtiyarpur, adjacent to Bihar's capital Patna, unidentified assailants opened fire in broad daylight, causing widespread panic. Two young men were seriously injured in the shooting, which occurred on the road in front of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence and just 50 meters from the Bakhtiyarpur police station. CCTV footage of the entire incident has also surfaced.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday when Vishal Kumar and Abhishek Kumar, residents of Dedar village in Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, were returning home on their bike after attending the Ganga Aarti held at the Stair Ghat on the banks of the Ganges. When the miscreants, who were already waiting, suddenly attacked them and began firing indiscriminately.
Vishal Kumar was shot in the back and Abhishek Kumar in the stomach. Despite being seriously injured in the attack, both young men displayed courage and, abandoning their bikes, managed to reach the Community Health Center, Bakhtiyarpur. After receiving first aid at the hospital, doctors, considering their critical condition, referred them to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for further treatment.
Following this incident, security has been further increased around the residence of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Upon receiving information about the incident, local police immediately responded to the scene and began investigating. A shell casing and two bullets were recovered from the scene.
Police are examining CCTV footage from the area around the scene. Continuous raids are being conducted to identify and arrest the attackers. Upon receiving information about the incident, local MLA Arun Kumar Shah rushed to the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured youth. He strongly condemned the incident and made it clear that the culprits would be identified and will not be spared at any cost. This daylight firing in Bakhtiyarpur has once again raised questions about the security situation.
