Patna: A new controversy has erupted in Bihar politics over a government residence. Minister Lakhendra Paswan has raised serious questions about the condition of the government bungalow vacated by former minister Tej Pratap Yadav. He claimed that the bungalow is in a deplorable state and several essential items are missing.

What allegations did Minister Lakhendra Paswan make?

Minister Lakhendra Paswan said that he was shocked by the condition of the bungalow when he inspected it after it was allocated to him. According to him, “Fans, chairs, ACs, and even light bulbs are missing from the bungalow, and the roof is also damaged, making it currently uninhabitable.”

The minister clarified that he does not consider it possible to live in the bungalow until the necessary repairs are completed. He said that not even a single light bulb is left, and the entire structure is in a dilapidated condition. This statement has sparked intense discussion in political circles.

What is the response from Tej Pratap Yadav?

However, no official response has yet come from Tej Pratap Yadav or his supporters regarding this matter. It remains to be seen what conclusions the building construction department will reach in its investigation and what administrative action will be taken. Currently, this controversy is creating a stir in the state's politics.

When was the notice received?

Former minister Tej Pratap Yadav was sent a notice on November 25, 2025, to vacate his government residence (26 M Strand Road) in Patna. This step was taken by the building construction department after his defeat in the 2025 elections from the Mahua assembly constituency.

Similarly, Rabri Devi was also given a notice to vacate her residence at 10 Circular Road. According to the rules, former MLAs are required to vacate their residences within a maximum of one month after receiving the notice.
