What is Magh Purnima Puja Method?

On the day of Magh Purnima, there is a special ritual for worshipping Lord Vishnu and Chandra Dev (the Moon God). It is believed that observing a fast, bathing, and donating on this day frees a person from sins. On this day, take a bath in a holy river, pilgrimage site, or lake during the Brahma Muhurta in the morning and offer oblations to your ancestors. If bathing outside is not possible, you can add Ganges water to your bathwater at home.

After bathing, take a vow to observe the fast and begin the puja. First, establish a Kalash (pot) and worship Lord Ganesha, then perform the puja of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. In the evening, worship Chandra Dev and offer him Arghya (water offering). Finally, recite the Purnima Vrat Katha or the Satyanarayan Katha. After the puja, donate to the needy according to your capacity. Donating blankets, sesame seeds, jaggery, ghee, or food items on this day is considered especially fruitful.
