Commercial LPG Prices Drop Again: Hotels, Restaurants Set to Benefit from Fresh Rate Cut (Image X @ANI)
New Delhi: Businessmen have got a big relief on the very first day of August. Oil marketing companies have reduced the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders. Due to falling prices for the second consecutive month, the costs of hotels, restaurants, dhabas and people associated with food business are expected to reduce. However, there is no relief for domestic consumers at present, as there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder.
According to the new rates, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder has decreased by Rs 202 in the capital Delhi. Now it will be available for Rs 2,728, whereas earlier its price was Rs 2,930.
A reduction of Rs 209 has also been made in Kolkata. Now commercial cylinder will be available here for Rs 2,872.50.
In Patna its price has come down to Rs 3,018, whereas in Lucknow the same cylinder will now be available for Rs 2,860.50.
Commercial LPG cylinders are mainly used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas, catering services, bakeries and tea-snack shops. In such a situation, the operating costs of these businesses will reduce due to falling prices. It is believed that this will also provide some relief to small traders.

At present, domestic LPG cylinder is available in Delhi for Rs 942. Its price in Kolkata is Rs 968. Consumers in Mumbai will have to pay Rs 941.50 and in Chennai Rs 957.50.
The falling of commercial cylinder prices for the second consecutive month indicates that the pressure of gas costs on businessmen has reduced to some extent. However, with domestic cylinder prices remaining stable, common consumers will have to wait for any additional relief.
