New Delhi: Railway ticket booking services in Delhi will be disrupted for a few hours. This disruption will begin at 11:45 pm on November 22, 2025, and last until 4:45 am on November 23, 2025. Passengers will face inconvenience for a total of five hours. During this time, several important PRS (Passenger Reservation System) services in Delhi will be out of service. This change is due to the replacement of the old core switch with a new core switch.

Delhi PRS services will be temporarily suspended for five hours (from 11:45 pm to 4:45 am) at midnight on November 22-23, 2025. The Railways has selected off-peak hours for this operation. This time is crucial because late-night ticket booking and enquiry activity is lowest. This will minimize passenger inconvenience.

Which services will not be able to be used?

The main reason for the shutdown is the transition from the old Core Switch to the new Core Switch. Core Switches are the backbone of any large network (such as the railway's PRS), ensuring that data is processed quickly and securely. Due to this technical work, several PRS application services will not be available at the Delhi site, including PNR enquiry, current reservations, internet booking, cancellations, charting, e-DR, PRIMES application, and NTES at Northern Region counters.

This advice has been given to the passengers

Passengers are advised to complete all important tasks, such as booking tickets, cancelling tickets, or checking PNR status, before 11:45 pm on November 22, 2025, to avoid any last-minute inconvenience. Services will resume as normal once the technical work is successfully completed
