CBSE Board Exam 2027: Date Sheet Released for These Schools, Check Class 10 & 12 Exam Rules (OpenAi)

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the schedule of practical examinations of class 10th and 12th for the academic session 2026-27. At present this schedule has been announced for schools located in winter-bound i.e. winter areas. Practical examinations, project assessment and internal assessment will be conducted in these schools from November 9 to December 19, 2026.

The board has also given many important instructions to the schools to make the examination process transparent and systematic. In such a situation, it is important for the students and school management to know these rules.

When and how long will the practical exams be held?

According to CBSE, practical examinations will start from November 9 in winter-bound schools and will have to be completed by December 19, 2026. During this period, project work and internal assessment will also be completed along with practical exams for classes 10th and 12th.

The board has clarified that this programme is only for those schools which remain closed in January due to winter. A separate circular will be issued for schools having regular academic sessions.

Which students will be allowed to appear in the examination?

CBSE has directed schools to collate the final List of Candidates (LOC) of students before practicals and internal assessments. Only those students will be allowed to appear in the examination, whose names have been sent to the board through online LOC.

Apart from this, internal assessment of class 10th will be conducted only once. Schools will have to complete the evaluation of all the students within the stipulated time and upload their marks on the board's portal.

What rules have to be followed during the practical exam?

To maintain transparency in the examination, CBSE has made it mandatory to upload group photo of every batch. For this, the board will provide a special app link to the schools. During the practical examination, photographs of each batch will have to be taken and uploaded through this link.

If there are more than 30 students in any subject, schools will have to conduct the examination in two or three shifts in a day as per the lab facilities. This will help in controlling the crowd during the examination and completing the assessment in a better way.

Is an external examiner necessary for 12th practical?

CBSE has directed schools to contact their respective regional offices regarding the appointment of external examiners and observers for Class 12 practical examinations. Along with completing the examination and project work within the stipulated time, schools will also have to submit the necessary documents as per the prescribed procedure.

Students have been advised to keep checking the date and time of the subject-wise practical examination from their school.
