New Delhi: The NEET UG 2026 re-exam is happening on June 21. Authorities across the country are ramping up security and logistics to handle this. Extra police, CCTV cameras, transport help, medical teams; everything's being put in place at test centres nationwide. About 22.79 lakh candidates are showing up. The exam runs from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, pen-and-paper format, happening in 551 Indian cities and 14 cities outside India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) wants students there between 11 am and 1:30 pm. Gates shut at 1:30 pm sharp.

Madhya Pradesh: Two layers of security in Bhopal?

In Bhopal, the district administration has finished its prep. They've set up 32 exam centres. Two city coordinators are managing them, one handling 14, the other 18. Around 13,774 students registered.
What they're doing: CCTV cameras everywhere. Signal jammers installed. Security works in two steps; cops outside doing initial checks, agency staff inside with scanners. Students only get in after both checks pass.

Jammu and Kashmir: Sticking to the rules

Srinagar's Deputy Commissioner says multiple agencies worked together to make sure exam procedures are followed properly. The NTA chief has been holding meetings to nail down how things should work on the ground. Police, security agencies, and local NTA people have all coordinated.

Uttarakhand: Heavy setup in Dehradun

Dehradun has 16 exam centres. Police are escorting the papers to each centre. Every centre has an inspector in charge, plus a team leader at the same level. Teams are positioned for checking duties and keeping watch the whole time.

Delhi: Centres already checked

Inspectors have been going around checking venues. Five schools are being used as centres in Delhi. Everything's been verified, facilities, setup, everything checks out before the exam starts.

Uttar Pradesh: Real logistics in Prayagraj?

Prayagraj is expecting about 23,000 students across 47 centres. The district magistrate says they've deployed police and paramilitary at each spot. From the moment the question papers arrive to when they leave, personnel stay on.
They've also sorted out transport. Railway and bus stations got instructions so students don't run into problems. The state government's reduced fares for students are in effect. An ARTO team is handling traffic in the city. Medical teams and ambulances are on standby for the heat.

Rajasthan: Police everywhere in Ajmer

Ajmer's putting 300 police personnel at exam centres. Armed guards are going with the papers. Strong rooms where answer sheets are kept stay under police watch the whole time.

Why all this?

Over 22 lakh candidates are sitting for this re-exam. The first NEET on May 3 had paper leak allegations and problems. The CBI is still investigating and has arrested several people. Students protested in different parts of the country after that mess. So basically, authorities are tightening everything to make sure this one goes cleanly and fairly.
