Unique Fusion! Latin Grammy Nominee Camilo And Diljit Dosanjh Collaborate For New Track

Punjabi music sensation Diljit Dosanjh who was the flag bearer of Punjabi music in Coachella this year, has made headlines again after collaborating with Colombian Latin Grammy winner Camilo for a one-of-a-kind music track.

The duo released a Spanish-Punjabi track called Palpita on August 31 for the second season of Coca-Cola’s global music campaign Coke Studio. This song is an entanglement of two rich cultures of the world- Punjabi and Spanish- with Camilo singing in Spanish, and Diljit singing in Punjabi.

This collaboration is an illustrious milestone in Diljit’s career as it is his first collaboration with a Latin artist who is Grammy nominated and a five-time Latin Grammy winner.

Camila and Coco Cola India both took to ‘X’ to share the news of the release of the new track.

Grammy nominee Camilo’s remarks

The new single emphasises on bringing people together through music and creating meaningful connections across different languages. The Latin artist has also spoken about his love for Indian culture and its traditions. “I have always felt a fascination for Indian culture and its traditions,” said Camilo. 

He also mentioned about admiring Diljit for a long time before this collaboration took place. Talking about working with Diljit he said that it was a valuable learning experience as well.

“I’ve admired Diljit for a long time, long before this collaboration came to me, so it was an incredible surprise to see it all come to life,” he said.

“Working with him in the studio was a valuable learning experience because I had the chance to truly see and feel his huge heart, the richness of his melodies, his kindness, and the one of his team. This song makes me very proud, not just because we did it but what it means in my career and what we are building between his country and mine.” Camilo added.

Working with Camilo was enriching, says Diljit

Diljit also commented on this collaboration and said it has been an enriching experience to work with the incredibly talented Latin artist Camilo. He also further added on the significance of music and how it can create incredible bonds among people.

“Music has this extraordinary ability to bridge cultures and create an unbreakable bond among people, and this collaboration exemplifies that beautifully. Working on this project has been an absolute joy, and I’m eagerly looking forward to sharing our Latino X Punjabi musical fusion with the world,” he said.

The new single marks Camilo’s second track of the summer for Coke Studio. ‘Be Who You Are (Real Magic)’ was the first track to officially kick off season two of the worldwide Coke Studio campaign.

This Punjabi-Spanish song, Palpita is part of Diljit’s upcoming collaboration album, which will also feature other international artists.
