12 Civilians Dead in PoK as Pakistani Forces Open Fire During Violent Protests (X/TIN)

Pakistan Firing: Following the third consecutive day violent protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), at least 12 civilians have been killed as Pakistani security forces opened fire. The unrest in Pakistan has intensified in POK against the Pakistani government. 

Initially the protest started over the government's failure to meet 38 key demands, has now took a violent turn and forced the military to take a stern action against the protestors.

Third day of Pakistan Protest 

As the protest has entered its third day, Pakistani security forces are trying hard to control the situation. Following same the Pakistani security forces opened fire and tear gas to disperse protestors. As per the reports, five protesters were shot dead in Muzaffarabad, five in Dheerkot, and two in Dadyal. In the ongoing operation, at least three police officials have also been killed.

Reason of Pakistan Protest

JAAC leader Shaukat Nawaz Mir said, "Our campaign is for fundamental rights denied to our people for over 70 years... either deliver on rights or face the wrath of the people."

Reportedly, Friends of Joint Awami Action Committee' has planned a protest for Thursday outside the Pakistan High Commission London. 

Pakistani Army Operations

Pakistani army is trying to respond to these protests by all means. As per the Pak news website Dawn said, ''thousands of troops have been re-routed from adjacent Punjab province.'' As per sources, ''Additional 1,000 troops have been sent from capital Islamabad.'' Notably, internet access has also been restricted in the region by Pakistan government.
