A brutally violent video showing the murder of a scrap dealer in Bangladesh has gone viral on social media. The mob not only beat the man to death with stones and a concrete slab, but they also danced around his body after killing him. Seven people have been arrested so far. Lieutenant General (Retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, advisor on home affairs, said that search operations are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.
According to Bangladeshi media, the scrap dealer was attacked near Misford Hospital on Rajni Ghosh Lane. The gang used a concrete slab to kill him over an extortion demand. This event has sparked outrage across the country, with protests calling for the caretaker government to be removed. Salahuddin Shoaib Chowdhury, editor of Blitz, stated that a nationwide campaign against mob lynching has begun. "Such cases are happening every day. It’s genocide. Remove Yunus immediately, or Bangladesh will be destroyed," he warned.
