Criticising UN, Donald Trump at the United Nations General Assembly, accused the organization of failing to address increasing conflicts and immigration problems. He stated that just by making hollow promises "war issue will not be resolved. He asked, "What is the purpose of the United Nations? ... It has such tremendous potential, but it's not even trying to meet the expectations.
The US President also linked India, China to the war in Ukraine by staing that both the countries are primary funders of war by “continuing to purchase Russian oil.” Further speaking about using tariffs to stop the Ukraine war, he stated, “a very strong round of powerful tariffs… would stop the bloodshed, I believe, very quickly”.
Donald Trump warned that European countries should stop buying energy from Moscow, staing that NATO allies are "financing a war against themselves" by not cutting off Russian oil and gas.
Trump also criticised the immigration policies of other countries. He accused the United Nations of "funding an attack on the West" due to inadequate migration controls and warned that the fabric of the West was being destroyed. He further said, "If you don't stop people you've never seen before, people you have nothing in common with, your country will fail."
Trump criticised previous predictions warning related to climate change. He said climate change is "the biggest hoax the world has ever seen."
Trump criticized the UN for its teleprompter and escalator during his visit to the United Nations headquarters. He faced the first issue when he and his wife boarded an escalator, which suddenly stopped. The second incident occurred during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly, when Trump's teleprompter malfunctioned. Trump publicly expressed his displeasure, saying, "The only escalator I received from the United Nations stopped midway up." He joked that whoever was operating the teleprompter was "in big trouble."

He met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and stated that he now believes Ukraine, with NATO's help, can recapture all the territories lost to Russia.
The President also targeted long-time US allies who have announced their intention to recognize Palestine as a state at or before the UN General Assembly this year.
