Indian-origin man with bipolar disorder shot dead by US police

Sachin Sahoo, 42-year-old an Indian origin man has been shot dead by US Police in San Antonio. Sachin was encountered by police when he allegedly hit two police officers with his car, when they were trying to apprehend him.

According to the sources, Sachin, a resident of Uttar Pradesh was pronounced dead at the spot following rift with police officials. He was charged and declared wanted for assaulting his roommate.

As per preliminary reports, the encounter happened on the evening of April 21, when officers responded to a residence in Cheviot Heights, San Antonio, following a report of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as confirmed by the San Antonio Police Department in a statement. After reaching the spot, the victim was immediately taken to the nearby hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Sahoo’s wife informed police that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and exhibited symptoms of schizophrenia. He was suffering with bipolar disorder from past 10 years.
