The US president praised the Italian PM a lot: US President Donald Trump is currently on a tour of the Middle East. On Monday, he attended the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, and during his address, he praised Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the only woman among the approximately 30 leaders present on stage.
Trump said that calling a woman "beautiful" in America could jeopardize a political career, but he jokingly stated that he remains confident in his own prospects. He directly asked Meloni:
"You wouldn't mind being called beautiful, would you? Because you are beautiful." Trump also noted that this comment about Meloni, standing on stage, could have escalated into an accusation of sexism, but he handled it casually.

Trump further stated that Meloni is his ideological ally on immigration and cultural issues and that people in Italy truly respect her. He said that she is a very successful politician and her determination to establish peace in Gaza is appreciated. Maloney was the only woman at the summit and also signed a declaration calling for peace.
