Pakistan Midnight Airstrikes in Kabul: The capital of Afghanistan was shook with the terrifying explosions as reportedly Pakistan carried out airstrikes targeting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) positions inside the city. The airstrike report was also confirmed by the Afghan authorities.

Taking to his social media handle, X, the Taliban’s spokesperson, Zabeehullah Mujahid, wrote, “The sound of an explosion was heard in the city of Kabul. However, no one should worry, it is all well and good, the investigation of the incident is underway, no report of any damage has been given so far, it is all well and good.”

Further reports also claimed that in the airstrike Noor Wali Mehsud, the TTP chief may have been targeted. As per reports, he is feared dead.

As per a Pakistani social media channel, “The #Pakistan Air Force has just conducted a precise airstrike against the #Taliban terrorist organization in #Kabul, the capital city of #Afghanistan. Pakistan is punishing the Taliban leadership badly tonight.”

What locals said about the airstikes?

Locals describing the incident called the night as chaotic. Several reports also confirmed that civilian homes were hit during the Pakistan's airstrike.

Another resident, sharing details about the airstrike on social media platform posted on X, “Many people are Reporting PAK conducted Air strike. Heavy explosions reported in the central and north of the city, with several civilian homes hit.”

Notably, this is the first such incident when Pakistan conducted airstrikes inside Kabul, further escalating the regional tensions. However, the investigation process in Kabul are underway.

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif's during his address at the National Assembly, said "Enough is enough," adding that Pakistan would not tolerate terrorism from Afghan soil. He was quoted as saying by Dawn, "Our patience has limits. Those who shelter or facilitate terrorists -- whether in Pakistan or Afghanistan -- will face the consequences." Asif said, "We told Afghan officials that 6,000–7,000 people were settled on your soil who pose a threat to us."
