Pakistan Horror: Minor Hindu Girl Kidnapped, Allegedly Forced to Convert and Marry (X)

Islamabad: A leading minority rights organisation on Tuesday strongly condemned the rape, forced conversion and marriage of a minor Hindu girl in Sindh province of Pakistan, and also raised concerns about the safety of minority communities across the country. According to the organisation, a ninth-grade student was kidnapped and forced into a "tragic nightmare" of conversion.

What did the minority rights organisation say?

The Voice of Pakistan Minority (VOPM) said that, a girl named, Pooja, who is the daughter of Ramsun Thakur and a ninth-grade student, was kidnapped and forced into a "tragic nightmare" of forced conversion.

The organisation claimed she was given the name 'Dua Fatima' and forced to marry Imran Ali, who is the son of Allah Wario's son. And called the act as "a cruel custom" that stripped her of her identity and shackled her to a life she never chose.

What did the rights body say about the minor girl's family?

It said that the family's ordeal was widely shared on internet and minority rights groups, raising concerns about the insecurity of Hindu girls in Sindh.

"In Pakistan, forced conversions aren't isolated tragedies; they're a relentless plague, especially in Sindh, where Hindu families live in perpetual terror that their daughters will be snatched, brainwashed, and wedded off under the guise of ‘love’ or faith," said Voice of Pakistan Minority.

While talking about the minor girl, the VOPM stated, "No official word yet from police or courts in Pooja’s plight, but the pattern is heartbreakingly familiar: authorities probe age and consent, yet the power imbalance tilts against the vulnerable."
