Tributes continue to flood in for a 15-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed at school, as grief-stricken classmates and parents gather at the school gates to lay flowers in his memory.

The victim has been identified by authorities as Harvey Willgoose, a student at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The tragic incident occurred on Monday, February 3, prompting the school to notify parents about a "serious incident." A message sent to families stated: "Students will be released when police give permission."

Shocking stabbing incident at school

Reports confirm that Harvey was stabbed at approximately 12:17 PM in front of horrified students. A teenage boy was quickly detained at the scene and remains in police custody. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded swiftly, attempting to save Harvey's life before he was rushed to the hospital. Despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries, having been knifed three times.

Grief-stricken community pays tribute

Mourners have left flowers, balloons, an England flag, and heartfelt messages at the school gates. A teenage girl, speaking with her mother’s permission, shared her sorrow:

“He was one of the sweetest souls and lit up every room. I will never forget him and all the funny comments he would make. He was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.”

Ongoing investigations and past violence concerns

Crime Scene Investigations teams worked through the night at the school. The tragedy follows previous lockdown measures at All Saints due to "threats of violence" among students.

Knife crime campaigner Anthony Olaseinde, who had previously worked with All Saints students to create anti-knife crime awareness videos, expressed his frustration:

“We have been having the same conversation about knives for six years. We've engaged with young people, taken knives off the streets, and tried everything we can. Some schools avoid the issue, but All Saints has always been proactive.”

Eyewitness accounts describe the horror

A student described the chilling moment he learned of the attack, “I went outside and heard two or three Year 11 students shouting, ‘Someone got stabbed, come here!’ to a teacher. I looked outside and saw a body on the ground.”

Another student added: “It doesn’t feel real—it feels like America. But this is Sheffield. This is crazy.”

As investigations continue, Harvey's family has yet to make a public statement about their devastating loss.
