Israel Confirms Release of 250 Palestinian Detainees: Israel on Friday released a list of 250 Palestinian prisoners to be released under the Gaza peace agreement. The list includes members of terrorist organizations like Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Fatah, and the Popular Front, all responsible for numerous terrorist attacks. Marwan Barghouti's name is not on the list, even though Hamas had demanded his release.

Hamas's Prisoners Ministry stated that no final agreement has yet been reached on the identities of the prisoners to be released. A Qatari TV channel, citing sources, reported that the list omitted some names that mediators had previously agreed upon.

In addition to prisoners, minors will also be released

Israel will also release 22 minors and 1,722 Gazans, in addition to 250 prisoners detained during the Gaza war. These people were not involved in the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Of the 1,722 Gazans, 1,411 are in the custody of the Israeli prison service, while 311 are in the custody of the IDF.

Israel will also return the bodies of terrorists

Not only this, Israel will also return the bodies of 360 Gazan terrorists. Media reported that Israel has rejected the demand for the return of the bodies of Hamas leaders Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar. Both were senior Hamas leaders who were killed by Israel.

Israel has stated that it will release the prisoners and bodies only if Hamas releases the remaining 48 hostages. The hostages include 47 of the 251 people abducted in the October 7 attack, as well as the body of a soldier killed in the 2014 Gaza War.

Palestinians Returning Home

After this agreement, thousands of Palestinians have again started returning to their homes in Gaza City. These people had fled their homes after the Israeli attack to save their lives. Many of these people are returning back to their homes after walking more than 20 kilometers with their remaining belongings.
