Washington: US President Donald Trump has threatened fresh military action against Tehran unless it immediately reins in Hezbollah, complicating active four-way peace talks between the US and Iran. Trump posted on Truth Social on Sunday and given a warning to Iran. He said control your Hezbollah allies in Lebanon or face military strikes.

What Trump posted on Truth Social?

Trump posted on Truth Social, "Iran must immediately stop their highly paid proxies in Lebanon from causing trouble. If they don't, we'll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!!" Negotiations are happening right now in Switzerland.

Are the talks ongoing?

American and Iranian delegations are meeting in Switzerland. They Supposed to be working on a deal, in the 60-day process to calm things down. The talk were planned about the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's nuclear program, and ceasefires everywhere. But Trump's out here threatening military action while the talks are going, delivering mixed message.

What VP JD Vance had said?

Vice President JD Vance spoke after meetings with Iran, Pakistan, Qatar, and the US. He said they've made progress on the Lebanon ceasefire but also admitted it's messy. "We've seen great progress over the last couple of days ensuring the ceasefire in Lebanon holds," he said.

He also said Trump wants a bigger regional peace deal. Lebanon ceasefire is a step toward that. Vance talked about turning things around with Iran. We may Start fresh if Iran stops doing things America sees as destabilizing.

How is Iran's situation?

Iran's not moving forward unless certain things happen. First one is Israeli attacks on Lebanon have to stop and no more attacks should occur, then they'll talk about nukes. The another one is they want the economic benefits whatever they were promised. Washington assured it would deliver. Iranian officials are blaming America for not stopping Israel from hitting Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Why Hezbollah matters?

Hezbollah is Iran's strongest ally in the region. Basically the backbone of Iran's entire network of armed groups across the Middle East. Iran's been funding them, training them, arming them for decades. So when Israel hits Lebanon, Iran takes it personally.

Strait of Hormuz closed again?

Iran also blocked the Strait of Hormuz again as this is a critical shipping route. Huge chunk of the world's oil goes through there. They closed it even though there was a deal earlier this month to open it back up and reduce tensions.

How is everything's linked?

Iran's saying none of this happens unless Lebanon gets resolved and they get their promised money. They're holding everything hostage; cooperation, talks on nukes, all of it. Everything depends on progress on Lebanon and economic benefits. For the time being, talks are ongoing, threats being made, Lebanon ceasefire shaky, Strait closed, Iran making demands.
