New Delhi: Reports of a major incident have emerged from Delhi Airport. According to available information, two aircraft collided at Delhi Airport on Thursday. These aircraft are reported to belong to SpiceJet and Akasa Air. Based on the updates received so far, there are no reports of any injuries or fatalities resulting from this incident. What did Akasa Air state?

“Akasa Air flight QP 1406, bound for Hyderabad from Delhi, returned to its bay on April 16, 2026. Preliminary information indicates that the Akasa aircraft was stationary when it was struck by an aircraft belonging to another airline. All passengers and crew members were safely disembarked, and our ground teams are currently making alternative arrangements to transport the passengers to Hyderabad as soon as possible. In accordance with established protocols, the relevant authorities have been notified, and an investigation into the matter is underway. At Akasa Air, the safety of our passengers and crew remains our utmost priority.”

What did SpiceJet state?

Meanwhile, according to information provided by a SpiceJet spokesperson: “On April 16, a SpiceJet B737-700 aircraft was involved in an incident while taxiing at Delhi Airport. As a result, the right wing of the aircraft sustained damage, as did the left-hand horizontal stabilizer of an aircraft belonging to another airline. The SpiceJet aircraft has been grounded at Delhi.”
