'Afghanistan Earthquake Kills Hundreds, PM Modi Promises Humanitarian Relief And Extends India’s Support For Recovery'

A powerful earthquake devastated Afghanistan, leaving hundreds dead and many injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and assured that India will extend all possible humanitarian assistance and relief support.

PM Modi on Afghanistan Earthquake:  The severe earthquake in Afghanistan has caused devastation everywhere. Meanwhile, India is once again fully prepared to fulfill its responsibility as a neighboring country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the people killed due to the earthquake in Afghanistan. He has also promised to provide full humanitarian assistance to the country. 

PM Modi shared a post on social media and said that he was saddened to know about the loss caused by the earthquake in Afghanistan. He wished the injured a speedy recovery and said that we are fully prepared to provide all possible humanitarian assistance and relief. 

Hundreds killed and many injured 

According to information given by a spokesperson of the Taliban government, the number of people who died due to earthquake in Afghanistan is increasing continuously. Now this number has increased to more than 800. The whole country is in shock due to this incident. Its effect was seen not only in Afghanistan but also in some parts of Pakistan, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear among the people there.

Rescue Efforts Continue Relentlessly

However, there is no news of any loss of life or property in Pakistan. Rescue operations are being carried out continuously by rescue teams to locate people trapped in the debris after the powerful earthquake. Giving information on the ongoing rescue operations, Health Ministry spokesperson Sharafat Zaman said that the number of casualties and injured is high, our team is present at the spot.

India ready to provide all possible help

PM Modi was on a two-day visit to China, currently returning to India. During this, he participated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and bilateral meetings with global leaders. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also pledged to provide all possible help to the people of Afghanistan. He said that the devastating earthquake in Kunar province of Afghanistan is a matter of deep concern. 

India Stands With Afghanistan

We express our support and solidarity to the Afghan people to deal with this crisis. He further said that India will provide assistance in this difficult time. Our condolences to the families of the victims and our prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), a 6.0 magnitude earthquake occurred near Jalalabad in Nangarhar province, whose depth was measured at about 140 kilometers.
