Amit Shah Fumes As Opposition Interrupts Him In Parliament; Here's What He Said (X @sansad_tv)
Delhi: During the debate in the parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a sharp exchange with the Opposition. He spoke at length on the issues such as SIR and electoral reforms.
Speaking in the parliament, he responded to the interruptions, specifically from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He asserted his authority and long-standing legislative career. Responding to Rahul Gandhi's interruption, Amit Shah stated that the Parliament will not run on your principle. I will decide the order of my speech.'
Amit Shah said, "Honorable Chairman, we all have our own perspective. We have also sat in the opposition. We have lost more elections than we have won. For many of us, nearly our entire political life has been spent in the opposition, whether at the state level or the Centre. We have never made accusations against the Election Commission.''
He added, ''A new pattern has emerged. I do not want to narrate the entire incident, but Mrs. Mamata Banerjee, Stalin, V D Satheesan, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Tejashwi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, V Sivankutty, and Hemant Soren have all leveled accusations against the Election Commission..."
Amit Shah talking about the accusation of opposition, said, "This accusation is not true, and I will address it later. But let us assume that immunity was granted to the electors. Indira Gandhi granted immunity to herself.''

''Later, when the constitutional amendment was challenged, she bypassed the first, second, and third senior judges to get the fourth judge appointed as Chief Justice and won the case. This is history. Who can deny it? Nobody teaches this history. It is recorded in the archives of the Supreme Court and Parliament...," he added.
Amit Shah further added, "A similar instance of Vote theft occurred in the past. Indira Gandhi was elected from Raebareli. According to the election rules, the process was challenged, and the Allahabad High Court ruled that Indira Gandhi’s election was not conducted properly. She was disqualified. Honorable Chairman, this was also Vote theft — a very significant case. After this, to prevent Vote theft, a law was enacted in Parliament stating that no case can be filed against the Prime Minister..."
Amit Shah added, "I want to explain what is meant by ‘Vote theft.’ There are three types of Vote theft. First, when a person is not eligible, meaning they do not meet the required qualifications, but still becomes a voter, it is considered Vote theft. Second, when someone wins an election through improper means, it is also considered Vote theft. Third, when someone defies the mandate of the people — that is, if a person obtains a position contrary to the public’s choice — it is likewise a form of Vote theft..."
The Union Home Minister said, "Honorable Chairman, regarding the three press conferences — one simple press conference, one ‘atom bomb’ press conference, and one ‘nuclear bomb’ press conference — I have answers for everything that happened in all three. Now they are claiming that some people have two voter registrations in different places. I do not hold responsible those whose names are registered in two places..."

He further added, "It is true that the BJP benefits from anti-incumbency. Our governments have repeatedly won elections, whether at the state level or at the Centre. However, it is not true that we have not lost a single election since 2014. We lost in Chhattisgarh in 2018, in Rajasthan in 2018, in Madhya Pradesh in 2018, and in Karnataka after 2014. We could not win in Telangana, Chennai, or Bengal..."
