Assam Horror: 15-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped And Murdered, Investigation Underway

Hailakandi: A shocking and infuriating incident has come to light from Assam. A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped and brutally murdered by an unidentified miscreant in Assam's Hailakandi district. The body of the minor girl was found in her house after her family returned from a feast at a relative's house nearby.

Where did the incident happen?

The incident happened at 11:30 pm on August 1 at a residence located near National Highway 6, under the jurisdiction of the Katlicherra Police Outpost.

According to a reports, the police said that the victim was subjected to inhuman torture. The victim's family has alleged that the 15-year-old girl was raped. The police rushed to the spot, took the body into custody and sent it for autopsy.

What did the police say?

According to the police, the incident took place around 11 pm on Saturday. The minor girl had gone to her relatives' house for dinner with her family. However, she returned home after an argument with her siblings.

Meanwhile, after the victim's family returned home after finishing their meal, the victim's body was found on the ground in the house. After this incident came to light, aggressive locals took to the streets and blocked the national highway and demanded strict action against the culprits. 

Senior Superintendent of Police Amitabh Sinha has informed that a case has been registered in this regard. Five suspects have been detained for questioning in this regard. He said that the allegations of sexual assault are yet to be confirmed and the investigation is underway.

"The family has alleged that the victim was sexually assaulted. However, we are waiting for the autopsy report before drawing any conclusion. We are investigating the matter thoroughly. Four people have been detained for questioning," Senior Superintendent of Police Amitabh Sinha told reporters.
