The shocking incident came to light on Friday morning when a female student noticed a mobile phone suspiciously placed near a cubicle in the women’s restroom. Her screams alerted nearby classmates, leading to a tense scene as students quickly gathered to investigate the situation. After noticing that one of the restroom doors was locked and receiving no response from inside, the students forced the door open, only to find Kushal hiding within.

Kushal’s phone, which had been positioned to capture videos in the restroom, was seized by the group of students. They immediately escorted Kushal to the college principal, where he reportedly admitted to recording videos inside the washroom.

Student protests erupt on campus, video surfaces

The discovery sparked outrage among students, who were attending classes at the time of the incident, around 10:45 am. Word quickly spread across the campus, prompting hundreds of students to leave their classrooms in protest, demanding strict action against Kushal for his actions.

To manage the growing unrest, two platoons of police were dispatched to the college. Authorities swiftly intervened, and college officials handed Kushal over to law enforcement for further investigation.

Further investigation underway

A preliminary examination of Kushal's mobile phone by police revealed two videos that had been recorded between 10:30 and 10:45 am on the day of the incident. Officials have indicated that a forensic analysis of the device will be conducted to uncover any additional evidence.

Students who discovered the phone mentioned hearing a notification sound, which led them to spot the device’s camera set up inside the restroom. An officer involved in the investigation confirmed that an FIR has been registered under Section 77 of the BNS Act, which addresses voyeurism and the violation of women’s privacy.
