Bibek Debroy Passes Away: Renowned economist and chairman of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, Dr. Bibek Debroy, passed away on Friday at the age of 69. A distinguished Padma Shri recipient, Dr. Debroy was celebrated for his impactful contributions to India’s economic policy and development landscape. His illustrious career saw him at the helm of various prominent institutions, including his role as chancellor of the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) in Pune, where he advanced economic research and scholarship.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, remembering Dr. Debroy as a towering intellectual who made significant contributions across multiple fields. "Dr. Bibek Debroy Ji was a towering scholar, well-versed in diverse domains like economics, history, culture, politics, spirituality, and more.
