New Delhi: Bihar School Examination Board has confirmed that Intermediate examinations for 2026 will be conducted from 2 February to 13 February. During these twelve days, papers for Science, Commerce and Arts streams will take place as per the scheduled timetable. Soon after Inter exams end, Matric examinations will begin from 17 February and continue until 25 February 2026. The announcement has brought clarity for students and schools across the state. Officials said that both exams will be completed within the month of February.
For the first time, Bihar Board has decided to integrate artificial intelligence into its examination support system. Students will now be able to receive test-related updates through an AI-powered chatbot. This facility will allow quick access to information regarding admit cards, schedules and guidelines. Officials believe this step will reduce confusion and help students stay informed without delay. The adoption of modern technology reflects the board’s effort to improve communication and simplify exam procedures.
According to BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor, students who cannot appear in main examinations or receive unsatisfactory results will have the option to appear in compartmental and special exams. These additional examinations will be held between April and May 2026. This provision aims to support students who might face unavoidable issues during annual exams. Results for the main examinations are expected between May and June. Officials assured that evaluation work will be handled efficiently to avoid unnecessary delay.
As per data provided by Bihar Board, a total of 15,02,021 students have submitted forms for Matric examinations so far. Likewise, 13,07,241 students have registered for Intermediate exams. The board announced that students who have not yet completed form submission may do so until 3 December 2025. All schools have been instructed to update their student lists on time to avoid exclusion of any candidate. Officials urged institutions to ensure complete accuracy in record submission.
Authorities stated that the timetable has been designed to allow seamless transition from Intermediate to Matric examinations. Schools and examination centres will be allotted and notified well in advance. Security measures will be reinforced to prevent paper leaks and malpractice. Wireless jamming and surveillance cameras may be installed where necessary. The board assured that evaluation and result preparation will be conducted transparently. The use of technological tools like AI is expected to further enhance systematic efficiency.
Experts suggest students utilise the remaining preparation time efficiently because exam dates are now confirmed. They should follow the official syllabus and avoid relying on last minute shortcuts. The AI chatbot facility can be used to clarify exam-related updates. Teachers have advised students to practice sample papers regularly and focus on writing speed. Schools may also conduct revision tests before board examinations begin. Students are encouraged to maintain health and avoid stress during this crucial period.
BSEB officials have requested students to fill forms on time and keep documents ready before examination. They emphasised that all information will be accessible through official channels including the chatbot. The board highlighted its commitment to transparency and smooth conduct of exams. Anand Kishor assured that every effort will be made to support candidates and prevent any disruption. The early announcement of exam dates is expected to help students plan better. Schools welcomed the decision and praised the use of technology.
