National News: With the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra scheduled in Haryana's Nuh district today, the district administration and police are on maximum alert mode. Given the violence during last year’s yatra, this time, authorities have ramped up preventive measures to ensure peace and order. One of the key actions taken was the suspension of internet services across the district from midnight on July 13 until midnight on July 14 to curb the spread of misinformation, rumors, and provocative content.
In a proactive move before the commencement of the Yatra, police recovered 87 illegally stored diesel cans, triggering suspicion of potential misuse. According to officials, such a stockpile could have been used for disruptive or incendiary activities. Three individuals, including a petrol pump manager, have been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and intended use of the seized diesel.
To personally review preparations, Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena and Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar conducted extensive inspections across the key points of the Yatra route on Sunday. Their first stop was the Nalhad village’s Nalhadeshwar Mahadev Temple, where they interacted with temple committee members regarding the readiness and expected footfall of pilgrims.
Following this, the team visited Jhirkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Ferozepur Jhirka and Shringeshwar Mahadev Temple in village Singar, evaluating security, crowd control, and logistical arrangements at each site.
SP Rajesh Kumar emphasized that there would be zero tolerance for lapses in security. The entire Yatra route and its vicinity will be under constant drone surveillance. To manage the crowd effectively, detailed briefings have been given to deployed forces, and special crowd-control protocols have been enforced. The administration has stressed a pilgrim-first approach, ensuring both convenience and safety.
DC Meena has instructed all departments to ensure that the route remains clean, accessible, and medically equipped throughout the Yatra. Provisions have been made for emergency medical camps, drinking water supplies, and clearly marked parking areas for vehicles. Special attention is also being given to traffic flow and contingency planning.
The security arrangements have been significantly tightened in light of the communal violence that erupted during last year’s Yatra in 2023, resulting in injuries and extensive damage to public and private property. Learning from the past, this year’s plan involves real-time intelligence tracking, enhanced CCTV monitoring, drone patrolling, and village-level vigilance networks.
This year, the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra is more than a spiritual gathering—it’s a test of governance, coordination, and communal harmony. The administration is confident of handling any challenge, urging devotees to cooperate, stay peaceful, and ignore rumors or misinformation.
If the Yatra concludes peacefully, it would not only mark a successful spiritual event but also stand as a model of collective discipline and administrative preparedness—proving that faith and harmony thrive best through mutual trust and cooperation.
