Condolences on recent deaths: PM Modi speaks to Nepal's interim PM Suhsila Karki (TIN)

PM Modi to Sushila Karki: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Nepal's interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki and expressed heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of lives in Nepal due to the nationwide protest by Gen Z over social media ban. PM Modi assured continued support in restoring peace in Nepal. 

In his 'X' post, PM Modi wrote, "Had a warm conversation with Mrs. Sushila Karki, Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal. Conveyed heartfelt condolences on the recent tragic loss of lives and reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for her efforts to restore peace and stability. Also, I extended warm greetings to her and the people of Nepal on their National Day tomorrow." 

How PM Modi congratualted Nepal's interim PM Sushila Karki

Earlier, when Nepal's interim PM Sushila Karki assumed office, PM modi congratulated her and called her appointment "a shining example of women empowerment." PM Modi during his rally in Imphal, said India and Nepal have been close friends bound by shared history, faith and cultural ties, and New Delhi stood firmly with the people of the neighbouring country during its transitional phase. "I want to congratulate Karki on behalf of 140 crore Indians. I am confident that she will pave the way for peace, stability, and prosperity in Nepal," the PM said.

It is to be noted that Sushila Karki became Nepal's first woman Prime Minister amid the several days Gen Z protest which led to killing of many people. She was appointed as the interim PM of Nepal after the political unrest in the country. Due to the several days of violence and Gen Z protest in the country, KP Sharma Oli was made to resign from his post.
