New Delhi: A new twist has emerged in the investigation of the recent car blast near Delhi's Red Fort. Police sources say three 9 mm caliber cartridges were recovered from the incident site—two live and one empty shell. This kind of caliber is not available to common citizens, due to which the investigating agencies have got another big question.
What is important is that no weapons were found at the scene—only cartridges. Usually, firing devices are also available. But this time it did not happen. The police also examined the weapons of the staff present at the spot and the local team, in which none were found missing. This strengthens the suspicion that the cartridges were brought there by some outside source.
A big puzzle remains—were these cartridges fired before or during the same blast? The police are now investigating with the help of the forensic team whether these cartridges were used recently or are part of some prior plan. The investigating agencies have to find out if there is any direct link between the blast and the recovered cartridges.
