Delhi: Friends beat teen to death after he refused to throw party for new phone

Delhi Crime News: A shocking and tragic incident has emerged from Shakarpur, Delhi, where a ninth-grade student was beaten to death by his own friends. The heart-wrenching altercation occurred when the student’s friends demanded a celebration for his newly purchased mobile phone. When he refused, tensions escalated, leading to a fatal confrontation. 

The victim, identified as 15-year-old Sachin, was returning home after buying a new mobile phone when he encountered three classmates, all minors. These friends demanded that Sachin throw a party in celebration of his purchase. When Sachin declined, an argument ensued, and his refusal became the catalyst for a violent attack.

Friends turn aggressors

The verbal argument quickly escalated into physical violence as the three friends attacked Sachin, leaving him gravely injured. Bystanders witnessed the altercation and intervened, managing to chase the accused away. However, Sachin’s condition had deteriorated severely by the time help arrived. 

Passersby rushed the injured boy to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival. The brutal nature of the incident has left the local community in shock, questioning the motivations behind such a senseless act of violence.

Police investigation underway

The Delhi police were notified shortly after the altercation, but the accused had already fled the scene. Law enforcement officials have taken Sachin’s body into custody for a post-mortem examination and have since launched a manhunt for the three absconding minors involved in the attack.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections of the Indian Penal Code, as well as provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police are actively investigating the matter, working to locate the suspects, who remain at large.
