Mumbai: In a tragic incident, BEST bus mowed down around a dozen people while reversing outside the Bhandup West railway station in Mumbai on Monday. Around 10-12 people were reported to be injured incident, of which four have allegedly died.
According to media reports, the driver was reversing the bus when the vehicle rammed into people waiting at the bus stop. The errant vehicle is reported to be an electric bus manufactured by Olectra.
Several teams from the fire brigade, police, BEST and ambulance services rushed to the accident spot after the incident.
Police officials informed the media that a forensic is at the spot to carry out investigations.
Almost a year ago, on December 9, 2024, a BEST bus had run over several pedestrians and vehicles in Kurla, Mumbai killing nine people and injuring 37 others.
